Windows XP (with SP 2) on a computer with a Pentium 4, 2.53Ghz processor. 1Gig of RAM.

The problem is not my computer.

WCRob,

I have been having a great deal of trouble with FF -- It may be that both of us should re-install it. In my case, however, it is not specific to CDF.

What do you think?

Unless you have something lurking in there that you don't know about, you're right, it isn't that.

Do you know anything about hijack logs? For making sure your computer is clean, it's the best method here Liz

I use Firefox, and I haven't had this problem. However, I do notice at times when trying to get to another page that the connection just keeps clocking, at which time I click the Stop button at the top of the browser and resubmit. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I'm thinking that's more of a network issue versus a browser/local computer one.

I agree; this happens to me as well.

I agree ~ it happens to me, but I never consider this to be much of a problem, and it seems that whenever I click the stop button ~ things clear up. I think I notice it most when there is a large amount of traffic on the website and things are busy.

Sunday night I notice that FF couldn’t find and refresh the page and could never reconnect with the servers. I tried IE and the same thing happened, thus I don’t find fault with FF or IE but with needed work going on at the server. After about 5 minutes the trouble cleared up and things were back to normal.

Using latest greatest renditions of Ff on both a Win2k machine and two different Apples at the house, no problems at all.
Not counting issue of just too durn busy,,, or not enough cookies,,, or beer getting warm...

Oh great. Another wise guy with a sense of humor trying to make me chuckle.

Well, it worked!

Okay, not trying to boost my post count here by double posting, but.....

I just had a brain-flash, or a techie moment......whatever you might call it - (I just thought about something, how's that?)......

Have a read at this thread I started in the Technology forum, and tell me if you think it might possibly be related to the problem mentioned in this thread. Since it seems my mouse is freaking out on me lately, is it remotely possible that the reason I'm having problems with C-D is because my mouse is double-clicking on me when I'm only clicking once? I mean, would that confuse the server in some way? After all, as I stated in this thread and the other one, this doesn't happen all the time. So I'm wondering if when I go to click once on a link within C-D, maybe something weird is happening with my mouse and it clicks twice on me without me realizing it. (Or would that be a problem going on with my computer?) Would that be the same as sending multiple requests at the same time to the server? If so, would that cause the site to "lock up" on me?

Brain flashes can be quite dangerous, trust me on this one.

Actually, after reading this thread and being a FF user myself. I have had FF lock up on me when trying to open things too quickly. For instance, clicking on a link and before that link is loaded and the page directed, click another link and have it just lock up tighter than a snare drum. I found this happens more with pages that are heavy java though. The CD forum gig as mentioned about I think is more of server load than browser issue. I think it may be their secret way of saying, are you sure you want to post this?
