Address: 1420 P St.
Insider Pick:

Description: Ranked in the top 20 children’s museums in the nation by Parents magazine, the Lincoln Children’s Museum is all about hands-on exhibits and encouraging a child to imagine. Exhibits let kids pretend to be a firefighter, police officer, or other public servant; climb a three-story tall apple tree; perform on a real stage with costumes and lights; or fly a full-size Cessna airplane located inside the museum. A prairie dog town that lets kids crawl around and a section devoted to tiny Nebraska Cornhuskers fans remind visitors they’re in Nebraska. The hands-on water exhibit has a number of boats, a turning water wheel, and a kid-size dock.
