Description: Located on the University of Nebraska–­Lincoln campus, the Lied Center for Performing Arts offers a wide array of both performing arts and university-sponsored events that are frequented by theater lovers, Lincolnites, and UNL students alike. Broadway musicals, classical music, modern and classical dance, jazz, country, and long-running lecture series are all part of the Lied’s ongoing programming.The Lied Center opened in 1990 and immediately started presenting national and international artists of all kinds to its diverse Lincoln audience. Arts Across Nebraska, one of its largest programs, works with communities around the state to tour shows to areas of the state where no local theater exists.
