Omaha offers a wide array of accommodations for visitors. Lots of hotels—most part of national chains—offer a wide variety of options. High-end options, middle-of-the-line rooms, and economy choices are all available in every Omaha neighborhood and near many attractions and business centers.
For those who prefer to travel in the comforts of a recreational vehicle, there are lots of RV parks that offer a multitude of amenities: parks for kids, swimming pools, hot tubs, and community gatherings for campers. The traveler who prefers a unique accommodation will find that in Omaha, too. The city offers a boutique hotel in a historic downtown building with excellent proximity to the Old Market (see map on p. 35) and the Orpheum Theater. Omaha’s one bed-and-breakfast offers a popular getaway for locals looking for a weekend “staycation” and is a popular option for newlyweds or those looking for a romantic retreat.
The business traveler will find many hotels located conveniently close to office parks in west Omaha, Papillion, and La Vista. Those traveling to Omaha for a convention will find many lodging options around downtown’s Qwest Center Omaha. And best of all, things like wireless Internet, 24-hour business centers, and top-notch concierge services have become the norm.
Many Omaha hotels offer free shuttle service to and from their facilities to the Omaha airport; some also offer service to businesses and restaurants located around the hotel. 5. The Magnolia

Description: One of Omaha’s only boutique hotels, the Magnolia is designed with a modern take on an original 1920’s Italian sculpture in the building. Marble floors, travertine walls, and Roman columns are juxtaposed with elegant modern chandeliers and furniture. Guest rooms and suites lend views of the Omaha skyline and the hotel’s courtyard. The newly renovated rooms are decorated in chocolate brown and turquoise and equipped with high-speed Internet, large work spaces, Nintendo, and in-room Starbucks, along with all the other expected amenities. Six thousand square feet of meeting space accommodate special events, meetings, and many weddings. The hotel offers a reception with free beer and wine each night, free airport transportation, and a complimentary bedtime cookies and milk buffet.

Description: With a hip color palette of orange, vivid green, and royal blue, north downtown’s Fairfield Inn and Suites’ 83 rooms and 30 suites are both hip and affordable. The color palette continues through the lobby, breakfast room (where food is served daily), and pool and fitness center. Outside the pool, a sundeck welcomes guests to wind down after a long day. Free on-site parking is a plus. The hotel doesn’t have any on-site restaurants, though a self-service kiosk called The Market offers sandwiches, frozen meals, and dry snacks for those who need to eat on the go.

Description: Hampton Inn (which is right next door to Homewood Suites) is the closest hotel to the new TD Ameritrade Stadium, and will likely be the lodging choice of lots of baseball fans. The hotel’s 139 guest rooms and suites are decorated in a warm palette of browns and gold, and the hip lobby seating area and the rooms offer free high-speed Internet. Suites include a kitchen with a minifridge, microwave, and sink. A free breakfast buffet is served daily and can be taken to go. The Suite Shop is stocked with travel items, snacks, and microwaveable meals. There isn’t a restaurant on-site, but dining options around the area make that just fine. Free shuttle service to and from the airport is available all the time.
8. Holiday Inn Downtown Omaha

Description: The new north downtown Omaha Holiday Inn is the first in the state that meets the hotel chain’s new standards. The hotel has two popular amenities: a water park and the Union Pizzeria and Sports Bar. The 114 guest rooms all have either a single king bed with a pullout sofa or two king beds; none of the rooms have queen or double beds. The hotel offers free shuttle service to the airport and to the Old Market, the Henry Doorly Zoo, and other downtown Omaha attractions. The 10,000-square-foot water park includes a three-story body slide and a play structure with a dump bucket, oversize hot tub, and swimming pool. The waterpark is only open to hotel guests, and is free. The hotel also has a state-of-the-art fitness center and wireless Internet.

Description: Omaha’s airport is close to downtown, so lodging options abound, but one of the closest hotels to Eppley is the Sleep Inn and Suites. An affordable option, the hotel has simple guest rooms with basic decoration and the usual in-room amenities. Suites include a separate sitting area and bedroom, and the hotel has free breakfast daily and a public computer free for guests to use. The hotel is also one of the only ones in the area that’s pet friendly.

Amenities include a playground, a minigolf course, a swimming pool, a shuffleboard court, horseshoes, banana bikes, badminton and basketball courts, and sand volleyball. The on-site Kornhusker Kafe serves breakfast, and pizza delivery is available. An on-site dog park lets owners exercise their pets.
