Description: Arts education and exhibition space make the Lux Center one of Lincoln’s most multi-use art venues. Art classes in practically any topic a burgeoning artist could imagine are offered at the Lux; the classes serve all ages and skill levels and are often really reasonably priced.The Lux exhibition spaces are often full of work from local artists, though exhibitions from regional and national artists happen here, too. Lux also has an artist-in-residence program that aims to help burgeoning artists launch their careers.The Gladys M. Lux collection is the center’s permanent collection of work, and is named after its founder, who was a professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University. The collection includes more than 1,600 dolls, more than 450 prints, and a number of glass paperweights. Selections from the print collection are always on display in one of the Lux galleries.
