On the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Courtland Street, across from Georgia State University, this bookstore is only a few blocks from some major Downtown hotels and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. Although it’s primarily a textbook store, carrying books offered for GSU courses as well as test-prep materials, Georgia Book Store also has sports-related items and local and regional souvenirs. The store still has some Olympic memorabilia for sale. Georgia Book Store has been in business since 1957. The original owner pioneered the idea of buying college students’ books back when the courses were over; that’s a staple of the business now.
