They will be bringing their EV cars from CA, so they aren't concerned about WA Fuel tax increases (fuel is considered CHEAP in the PNW to those from CA)
Then why don't you pay for an appraisal, to prove your property's lower value?
I chaired a property tax appeals board. It was rare we didn't consider a good appraisal as indicative of true value.

Recession begins in January 2023 probably lasts about 18 months. Should be out by summer ‘24. Prepare.

Another way where bipartisan action moves the US forward in the battle to reduce the harmful effects of climate change. Once again, I say that if your default is to complain about action taken by one party then you are simply ceding the issue to that party. I believe this country is most effective when both sides come together with constructive solutions to problems.

If Republicans or independents don’t like the idea of a gas tax, and a speed limit reduction is more effective, then publicly call for it, and campaign for it. If you think there are other ways to reduce emissions then let your representative know about it and see if it shows up in the next set of laws.

If you have cash, interest rates will continue to rise. Not a bad time to put that cash to work. I believe cash may be the better play over stocks here in late ‘22. But while stocks could be ok, there is the issue of risk vs stability. While this scenario is nothing new, it really comes down to your risk level.

^There will always be people who will have trouble meeting expenses.
No one In Oregon is going to drive 55 except us old people. In the 80's, I-5, posted speed 55 for trucks, bit higher for cars but 75 was traffic, 6am, dry pavement.
YMMV

Had a bit of time to kill this morning and read this thread. Where is the 46 cents per gallon targeted to go? Is it funding renewable energy (wind/sun), some form of infrastructure (state highways, local roads/bridges), installing electric charging stations in rural areas? Hopefully it's something worthwhile to the majority of the state and not to special interests.

Where is it going? To State coffers. Washington needs money to continue the liberal agenda. Don’t get me wrong, I lean liberal, but this cash grab is not reasonable. Whatever happened to liberal conservatism?

You appear to be mixing meanings of the word "liberal", so they aren't going to align like that.

This whole thread is dumb, it's based on some guy who has conjured a 46c increase out of wild guesses in order to scare voters. The actual amount is still unknown because it depends on the gas companies, but I've seen better estimates for 20c, which is still more than the vague "pennies" that Inslee claims. I think it is a ridiculous set up, overly complicated, and probably won't achieve anything useful. People need alternatives to driving, not just driving made more expensive.

Fair enough, but liberal conservatives do exist. I would consider myself in that group.
