Is San Antonio less developed than the other Texas cities or what is going on?
As far as larger cities go, I'd think the forgotten city in Texas is El Paso.

I agree. El Paso is amazing, but to be honest, I think El Paso seems more like NM than it does Texas. Beautiful place with amazing sunsets.

I would also put San Angelo and Lubbock on that list. These cities offer quite a bit, have good quality of life for families and are always overlooked for Dallas, Houston and Austin.

I would live in Lubbock LONG before I would Austin....even if I could afford the parts of Austin that are desirable.

Study by Stessa shows San Antonio is 7th in the nation in large metros by percentage growth of 6 figure jobs in 2020.

https://www.stessa.com/blog/cities-w...ng-job-growth/

Austin came at 15th and no other Texas metro made the list. Of course, this has a lot to do with the fact that they were dead last of the big 4 meters in TX by sheer numbers, but nonetheless progress.

San Antonio and Austin both attract the most transplants per percentage of population growth of the larger Texas metros. Houston and Dallas have higher growth numbers because they they are already so massive.

I grew up in San Antonio before moving to Houston at age 16, and even as a kid, it always felt that way. I'd go stay with relatives in Houston or Dallas and they always had new toys months before I'd get them back home. And it always seemed like concerts hit Houston and Dallas but not SA, unless it Heavy Metal lol... SA seems to be a popular place for that. But at least Freestyle was big in SA!

Three, Raiders have a huge fan base in Southern California which is only a four hour drive from Las Vegas (which is also filled with SoCal transplants). San Antonio never stood a chance because of the large Cowboys fan base here.... where as Las Vegas and SoCal have no true one team...even with their new SuperBowl champion Rams.

Technically, the most forgotten Texas city is Amarillo.

Forgotten no but overshadowed yes. I spend a significant amount of time in the city for work but can't really think of anything that would make me move there over other major Texas cities. The Riverwalk gets old quick and there is nothing else unique about it when compared to the other major Texas cities.

I will say, it seems I meet the most contempt people in all of Texas living in San Antonio. Rarely do I hear major complaints. Residents generally seem to like it. Can't say the same for the other Texas cities which have their fair share of haters.

Right now, it does offer more bang for your buck in terms of housing.

Hey, George Straight made a song about it though.
