I saw another one today. A lady about my age that cut most of her hair off. It was no more than an inch long all over her head. I don't get it? IMHO, it certainly doesn't make them more attractive. Yet I see women who do this who obviously do other things and spend money to make themselves look better, but then cut their hair mostly off. I didn't think hair was that big a maint. thing. Maybe the ladies can explain?

Perhaps she has cancer? Many women facing chemotherapy opt to have their hair cut very short beforehand so as to minimize the fallout.

Because the concept that a short haircut is a "man's" haircut is ridiculously archaic. I prefer having short hair, it's easier to maintain and it looks great.

I don't know... I knew someone who looked like a cross between this and this.. it was so not attractive but she thought it was great and sexy. Ugh!

So...which is it?
You can't have long hair after 50 or you look like a witch OR if you cut your hair you are a man?

I know older women who get a really short cut because their hair is thinning. But why should it matter to anyone? They are not trying to appeal to you, OP, just to feel good about themselves.

Looks a heck of a lot better than some 60 year old woman who wears her grey/white hair the same length as if she were 25-30.

Do you have long hair? Do you wash and dry it everyday? Like taking all that time for your hair? How's that hair feel in a Texas summer? Most women when they get older are pleasing themselves and don't care what others think, especially strangers.

There's a happy medium between looking like a burned out old hippie and looking butch.
