So, God apparently didn't seem to hear the prayers of 6 million Jews during the Holocaust, so why does anyone think that God will really grant you the new job you were hoping to get? REALLY? Shouldn't people just say that they were hoping to get the new job rather than try and use God to grant their requests?

There's not a shred of evidence that prayers work, however. There are anecdotal claims - "I prayed that my flight from Chicago to Dallas not crash. Guess what? It didn't crash! Praise Jesus!" - but they're about as relevant as anecdotal claims that sacrificing a chicken made the beet harvest bountiful.
This is one of those things where we non-believers are supposed to not point out the absurdity of it all, lest the pious be offended. There's a term for that: political correctness.

Well, that’s because the Jews were praying to a false god. If the Jews had prayed to the One True God, the Christian God, the holocaust would never have happened. Not only that, but the Jews would have better jobs too.
Or at least that’s what is implied by evangelical Christianity, even if most evangelicals would never say it out loud.

All of it is totally absurd.
Were you there during the Holocaust? Do you have proof of what you speak? What a truly bizarre statement!!! FYI. There is only one God that people all over the world pray to, and it's not a man in the sky with a white beard that looks like Charlton Heston. And it's not a man, nor a woman.

Actually people "all over the world" don't pray to your god. And, just for the record, in what film did Charlton Heston play god?
... what is the point of praying that God's will be done, for example? Isn't He going to do His will anyway?
... Prayer is a form of meditation.
You answered your own question there.
In Christian thinking, there are two basic types of prayer ... meditative (thy will be done = I submit myself to god's will, would be an example), or petitioning. It is pretty clear that the Christian god is not into answering petitions in any way distinguishable from random happenstance, at least ... but that he IS very much into getting his own way, so I'm sure submissive declarations please him greatly. But even there ... the gods are supposed to reward good behavior and then we're back to the problem that you can't tell the difference between an absent god, an indifferent god, a non-interventionist god or a non-existent god. And also you can't demonstrate that the truly pious are healthier, wealthier or wiser for it. In the end, they displace 100% of any sort of closure, justice or peace into the afterlife. And even then there's no warranty agreement, lol.

God does listen to prayers but only the prayers of the righteous you may have 10,000 people praying but only a few are truly righteous therefore only a few are heard.
Ok, you win. The Jews didn’t bother to pray at all. If only they had prayed to the Christian God, maybe the holocaust wouldn’t have happened.
Well of course if they were praying to the Christian god they would not have been Jews, either. Problem solved!
