the human ego which is enamored of and attached to and identifies with and is distracted by all the false identities which it clings to and chatters on about: the body, the intellect, the fame, the cars, the house, the finances, the moods, the trauma, the job, the career, the thoughts, the emotions, the drama, the chatter, the race, the gender, the culture, the degrees, the title. none of that is who we are.

Sorry, Tzaph, that is the impasse. You keep telling me what it is NOT. Just naming it the ego does NOT identify WHAT the finite and temporary IS, if it is NOT the Oneness that is ALL that there is IMO. YMMV.

The ego is a construct formed of the mind and intellect. It does not have any material existence in your body and yet affects and effects you as Mystic, your identity. You have thoughts but they are not material. They change all the time second by second. There is an tgat is cognizant of all your thoughts, emotions, the canges, the decisions you make and unmake, your will to act. That awareness is the Atma, which is the same as Brhman at the micro level.
We may be talking of the Oneness differently. Oneness is the recognition of the truth of our nature, when all there is is only Brhman, not anything else. Not the world, bot the body, not the mind, just the self-illumined Brhman.
This recognition while it is in the mind, is achieved by obtaining a mindset formed from mindful, conscious, living, character, values.

Are you aware that you use terms like mind, intellect, ego, and Atma without identifying what they ACTUALLY ARE if they are NOT Brhman? How can ANY part of an unchanging and timeless Brhman NOT know or be confused about anything? you already know that the reasoning of the rishis is not convincing to me, hence the impasse.

The difficulty, as you well know Mystic, is due to the fact that this forum is not adequate to expanded explanation of complex ideas. That is why it requires serious study.
But i will try.
They are all Brhman because Brhman is all there is.
Because of incarnation the body exists, to reap the consequences of karma. Also to obtain moksha, only the human body will do. All this works within the universal order, which is Brhman.
The body and everything you mention are gross material that obtains life, sentience, by the illumination of Brhman. Analogy : the light bulb with all its material filaments and wiring and so on becomes light only with electricity which is non-material. Brhman is the energy from which electricity is drawn.
It is clear we are the body, and we know we have a mind because we have thoughts and memory. Analogy: bulb and the wiring and filaments or whatever else goes into making the object, bulb.
The mistake is to think we are the body, and only body. It is subject to decay, although the basic element, the carbon, is Brhman is not subject to decay. We are the Brhman itself in our true nature, that which enlivens the body, the energy by which our mind and intellect work.
