What is the root of evil? (pray, Adam, belief, Christ)

The root of evil which is sin to God is pride and unbelief in the living God , which is based in selfishness ....... Then there is the spiritual manipulation of evil overcoming the will of man , which come from demons spirit and fallen angels and power of darkness spirits which motivate man to do and be evil , and people who are spiritual undiscerning would never know these spirits are there , as they are very good at hiding in a familiar way to man , like men would say . ```this is how I think ``.... but many opinions are very evil
Explain how a humble atheist or a humble polytheist are the roots of evil. Are you not proud of your "victorious" monotheism (that Muslims share)?
ISIS is a cult too. These people believe they are doing God's will just like any other right fighter. They are being manipulated into seeing the world this way. Questioning is forbidden so no self awareness.
I'm sure if any ISIS member starts to question their suicidal and militaristic warrior tendencies, they are told to stop being so prideful and selfish and instead humbly submit to the One God who they think orders them into the "hard/selfless" ways they have chosen.

I've shared this video a few times(I'm really into this right now). I think this neuroendocrinologist Robert Sapolsky has some really interesting things to say.
I'm so picky when it comes to things I deem important. What Dr. Sapolsky says is exactly what I was saying: There are many, many roots, a set of main roots, and one trunk (i.e. human beings) that leads to the branches.
I'm sure if any ISIS member starts to question their suicidal and militaristic warrior tendencies, they are told to stop being so prideful and selfish and instead humbly submit to the One God who they think orders them into the "hard/selfless" ways they have chosen.
They mess with people's minds so they self police their own thoughts. Going up against the group is like going up against God himself.
Was thinking about this a bit and wondering what people think is the root of evil.
Any thoughts about James 1:14-15 that each person is drawn out by his or her own desires ( root of evil if desiring bad ) .
Kind of like temptation is an enticing bait to do wrong and be caught up in doing wrong.
Actions preceded by thoughts. Wrong thoughts producing wrong actions. Satan is an example of that.
I am not against the male species but when you look back at the evils in history up through today it's clearly the male species that's responsible for most of the evil.
Which leads to a very interesting observation in the Christian religion...one of their themes and teachings is that we are born evil. Since it was ancient men who conjured up and wrote this bizzare claim into their holy book...perhaps they were simply describing themselves.
