if god wants people to know he exists why not just show himself?
or at least send one of his representatives (angels) to appear before man?
to leave no doubt in anyone's mind that he is real? what is he afraid of?
that way no one can have any doubt. because as it stands there is still
not one shred of proof god exists beyond people's imagination and superstition.

Do you not think that people would find a reason to disobey and not believe? The Israelites saw him act in very real, tangible ways....and they still pretended he didn't exist.

God once showed himself to the Israelites thousands of years ago?
How do you know that? The bible says so? That is not proof.

Those are just stories from an ancient book, there is no truth to them. God doesn't show himself because he does not exist. Sure there would be people who would not want to worship him like devil worshipers and the like but that's just another lame attempt from Christians trying to make excuses for their god. Doesn't fly and there is no good reason why, as the OP stated, for him to NOT show himself.

It's not easy to get people to believe in an imaginary being.
So the church had to have 400 years of the Inquisition to force them
to believe upon pain of torture and death.

And why does he not show himself today?
If he showed himself today to the entire world...how long do you think it would be until people said it was not proof enough? How many would say it was a camera trick? Or that it was some kind of natural phenomena?
