Yes fads come and go but seeing a god would forever be burned into everyone's memories, if you believe the bible like you say and that your god is all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful then you have to understand that there is absolutely no reason for him NOT to show himself and prove us all wrong. If he is all-powerful then he could most definitely prove himself to the entire world at one time, no problem. It's not a whole lot to ask.
