So stupid, so backwards and ignorant that we need saviors, masters, avatars, teachers
sent to this 3rd Dimension to leave breadcrumbs for us to find our way Home?

Whassup with that?

Because by design we are made carnal for survival in a carnal world. Our every reaction is predisposed toward our individual survival and well-being as an animal. Any spiritual aspirations and drives must be learned from external sources and imposed on our animal drives and nature.

Good question.

I think most of us, if we're at all curious and questioning, spend a goodly chunk of our lives confused. Nowadays especially, we're bombarded by an ever-evolving, impossible-to-avoid media. Everywhere, we are urged to buy this, believe that, improve this, change that -- and many of the messages contradict each other.

It's like static on a radio or old-style tv. There's too much noise today and people, quite literally at times, cannot hear themselves think. Especially in urban areas, everywhere I look someone is looking at their phone, or talking into it, or tapping a tablet or laptop, or walking/driving/biking with ear buds cranked to their iPod.

A city child can be born, grow old and die without ever knowing real silence.

With all that noise, how can anyone listen for the quiet murmuring of their spirit?

Before determining whether or not we need spiritual leaders, we might ask if we need spiritualism at all. Isn't spiritualism just opinion plus mystic spin? The mystic spin strikes me as a waste of time, a needless distraction, an annoying tax on the energy and brainpower devoted to a task.

Just accept reality, humans are stupid though still a little smarter than other apes. So follow the breadcrumbs.

Yes, so follow the breadcrumbs. Just follow the breadcrumbs...amidst all the static.

The problems with breadcrumbs, like Hansel and Gretel discovered, is that they can be blown away or eaten by hungry little critters, leaving us in danger of stumbling upon the wicked witch's house as we look for our true destination.

What do you think the dangers are, Katzpur?

Default Sin is such an over-rated idea....

By whose definition, "V"? Unlike you, I am not a sinner, that is... unless your officially sanctioned Christian definition is so broad-based as to ensure everyone is always conveniently and selectively guilty, and thus is always in need of a good ol' confession session down at the local mob (errr...church..) HQ.

Specifically, I have not lied, cursed at, betrayed, stole from, murdered or physically or psychologically harmed, shot at or struck, or planned and inspired to cheat, steal from or in any other way injure anyone. I do not need a faked-up Godhead, nor his minions of actual betrayal and sin (as in: lying to the congregation, and/or filling them with spiritual fear and mental pain, and so on, all on cue!) to get through this life.

(Oh... but then, your system requires that you frequently confess to it, even if you are in fact innocent!)

After all, there's nothing like a good old reliable case of presumptive and pre-defined Christian guilt to ensure the survival of the (tithing...) fearful congregation after all!
