I always find it quite telling that you Fundamentalist/Evangelicals equate the rejecting, mocking and distancing from you with the rejecting, mocking and distancing from Creator.

Tell him nobody is "saved". It's not a THING. People are only saved as long as they think they are, and then they aren't. The head games we play...lol

Why are you roommates with this person? That would be one of the top 10 things I wouldn't want in a roomie.

I agree wholeheartedly! Religious or not, nobody should have to put up with anyone pushing their beliefs down their throat! Freedom of speech gives you the right to say what you want. But, it DOESN'T mean that you SHOULD say anything you want! Unless you possess absolutely no ethics whatsoever!

If not believing in Jesus and or God is sinning. And that is a bad enough thing for someone to be punished and tormented. (in the view of those that believe such things)
But you don’t think you’re a sinner just because you don’t believe than wouldn’t that be slander for someone to be telling others you’re a sinner?

If that got around to your workplace or your boss it could cause trouble if they believed the same.

I wonder if anyone has ever tried to take someone to court for slander like that.

No, he's a good guy.

On the one hand, it's pretty cool that he tought of me at all. I mean, he cares enough to think of my well being...very few people are capable of that.

But, it's also kind of disturbing that he doesn't think the way I live my life is appropriate. The thing is, if he wants to have an impact on my life, I'm all ears. Why not? I know very little. I can always learn more.

But, I'd think it would be more appropriate to just come out and tell me. Now, if I want to learn the lessons of life that he sees I need (of which there are many) I have to confront him about it. It's just uncomfortable.

But, people are more than just their view points. In just the same way I strive for improvent, he does as well. Focusing on that commonality, he's a good friend of mine.

And I don't think his religion is wrong, really, the point is to live a moral life. He finds guidance from scripture, as do I, but it's simply different scripture.

The point remains the same regardless.

My problem is more how he thinks I'm unsaved but has never told me why.

dub, I'm guessing you share in his denomination but are breaking its rules in his eyes? You're not an ex-Christian then, too bad for you, their brainwashing will surely affect you in the future then, its part of the "culture" parasite, you identify with his religion so it will always scare you... Jesus says in Matthew 5:20 that all lay-Christians will burn in hell (or not share in the Kingdom of Heaven, but that could mean anything lol), even some "expert" Christians who control the demon's under the command of their lord Jesus, Jesus will say to them: "Depart from me, I never knew you"... if they didn't follow every letter of the law correctly and actually got Jesus to know them (whatever that means, I guess that's where the whole "personal relationship" thing comes from).

If you have little if any religious conviction then you are not a real Christian. You will burn in hell just as you are now; that is your crime, the crime of thinking wrongly.

other fake Christians will tell you its fine to be lay and slothful spiritually, but its only because they aren't real Christians either. The whole thing is a joke really, each and every single religion.

Anyway you don't have to take me seriously, but apparently you are taking your roommate seriously.

If you are fine with who you are then his ideas shouldn't affect you, but it seems clear that his thinking you are unsaved is bothering you... the best way to stop him from thinking you are unsaved is to become him or just do want he wants you to do to become "saved." The other alternative is to go the other way and convert him to your lais-sez faire style of "salvation".

What are you planning to do? not ask him? its your call.

I would have crossed my own name off that list as a hint.

I was the second one listed.

Firstly, unsaved from what? God? Death? The "afterlife"...whatever that is?

Secondly, at what point did it become acceptable to discuss my religious convictions (of which I have little/any) when I'm not even there to defend them? It's like I'm being judged by a group of people who hardly know me! Pretentious much?

Thirdly, if they must know, I'm not anti god. I'm anti humans trying to understand god. He/She/It is beyond my understanding. If he/she/it makes everything the way it is, I do not understand his/her/its rational. I gave up trying to. I've made peace with just living a moral life, as much as I know how, (with godly ideas mixed in), and hoping that that will be enough. If I did my best, how can god fault me for that?

Maybe I didn't do his best...but he/she/it is god after all...how could I have been expected to?
Tell him you found his list for Santa Claus, but want to know if it was the 'naughty' or 'nice' list.

Baloney...youre a Sinner just like the rest of Humanity regardless what you 'believe' or dont . Sin is a transgression against the One whos Moral Law was prescribed and infused in all of our hearts ...and THAT, isnt religious law...it is Gods very character, person, and nature. One day you WILL have a great desire for Gods salvation (not mine) and it isnt 'my personal beliefs' ... the standard is God and always has been long before I came along.

There IS something wrong with you , Me , and everyone of us...and its the obvious inherent dark side we all have to our human personality and no one is exempt from it ; each of us has the opportunity to get it taken care of by the only means possible via Christ on the cross paying the ultimate price for our sins, and if you choose instead to pretend you arent that bad of a person since you never murdered anyone and so blow of your sin DEBT, then you be in for a very regretful time ahead. Its not about religion, but it is about getting reconciled to a very holy God that is real ; its man-made philosophy which pushes deception on people to think they can live anyway they feel like without a shred of ultimate moral accountability and to pretend we dont need a personal Creator for our personal creation (willful atheism) .

One of the best things about being "unsaved" is that you don't have to believe what someone else tells you to believe.
