Then the owners copies, which should always take precedence anyway (or lack thereof) will show the truth. Again, easy.
As someone who dealt with this professionally for 19 years, I’d have loved to been backed by such a law.
One thing the DEI/woke crowd love to do is to take outlier 1 in a 100 cases and try to prove that an issue is so complex and not possible to solve quickly.
If someone forges documents? Make the penalty so harsh that it dissuades most .
The issue in states like NY is that society crafts laws to protect minority positions. Not in the sense of race but in the sense of anti-social behavior. Those with anti social behavior are protected at the expense of society as a whole.
Soon they will have to change the laws because of unintended consequences for and against the law. Bottomline is that government should never ever regulate somebody's personal property. It will always backfire when something gets exploited by ppl on the internet and accelerate the demise. This is why I'm universally against all forms of regulation of personal property and social issues because the complexity should always left alone for nature to resolve things on it's own.
This is the same as letting the government regulate your wallet.
NYC couple sued by squatters who allegedly took over their $930K investment home and won’t leave: ‘It’s absolutely absurd’
A pair of alleged squatters accused of unlawfully moving into a Queens duplex are suing its rightful owners after refusing to vacate the $930,000 home.
It’s the latest logic-defying chapter in the ongoing squatter saga in the borough, which in recent weeks has seen multiple homes occupied by unwelcome invaders who claim rights to the properties under New York City’s permissive laws.
“The court system is not favorable to landlords,” Kurlyand said. “It could take years to evict someone who illegally broke into your house? Where’s the law in that? Why work hard to pay rent or mortgages when you can break into somebody’s house every couple of years and have luxury living?”

That kind of nonsense HAS TO STOP!!
(especially if you figure that the ways the laws are set up now, if rightful owners try to physically force the squatters from the house, THEY will wind up in trouble!! )
Nothing will change until more squatters hit more homes. It's not a widespread problem yet for the city to do anything about. I just hope it gets more and more common.
Remember how long it took DeBlasio to kill the covid no rent policy? People didn't pay rent for years while subletting their apt to others for profit.
Government overreach has always created these problems.

Florida, Georgia and Texas pass recent law that squatters will be removed I don’t think New York State pass law like that with current governor.

It will take New York virtually a revolution to change the laws in a matter of similar to Georgia, Florida, and Texas. As far as the courts goes, they are more than dysfunctional; they are nonfunctional.
