There’s a guy, I think out west, maybe Califonia or Arizona who is a professional squatter. He makes his living by working with the owner. He signs a lease with him and moves in with first squatter and makes life hell for them till they move out.
Who goes around trying to open doors in an apartment building? That means that the perp thinks there's a chance that somebody left their door unlocked. Why would they think people leave their doors unlocked?
