I see that you are closing the end of August. not sure on the timing. if you are closing and want the unit, it won't really effect you.

I'm coming into this midway, so I'm confused: how did the developer dig their own grave? Why wouldn't they want to fight to keep people to their contract? (no offense to anyone trying to get of their contract)

Yes, I understood that. Sorry if the second question didn't come across making a lot of sense, but how did the developer dig their own grave?

I think the delay in actually finishing the project so buyers can close is being considered a breach of contract. There are most likely many people that want (need) out of their contracts due to a change in financial status.
