Sadly it closed in 2015/16 despite still being popular with the locals. Here is a MH article about it's closing;

Well Big Hoolies is back across from Shorty's Barbecue (but not as much space as original) and Little Hollies in the Falls shut down.

On a sad note, Carman Rollo who owned Rollo's Lounge and package store right in the same area died in a plane crash about a year and a half ago.

Indeed, and the Chart House still remains vacant and overgrown right next door.

As to the food at Scotty's, they need to get that addressed if they want to have enough business to stay there. I only go on occasion when in town because despite an incredible view/atmosphere, the food is as you say, so-so.
Undoubtedly developers want the prime property to build another condo or office space, so it must get better fast or bite the dust.

The sarussis or whatever, best sandwiches in Miami, the "vaquita" as there was a sign with a cow. 8th Street and the 70's?
never ever tasted sandwiches like theirs.

the Maya Hatcha boutique has been in Coconut Grove since 1968. they just left their 50 year location and moved up the road but it will never be the same.
