While I discouraged the OP from moving to Long Island, I can see how she might want to get additional product design experience in the Bay Shore position and then pursue a better-paid design job in, say, Manhattan, which we all know is a design mecca. Still, going from $38K in Cleveland to $48K on Long Island is quite a sacrifice.
