Here's the thing: I don't mind helping people that have the ability to help themselves and have really tried. I don't mind helping people that don't have the ability to help themselves due to mental or physical handicaps. But when you have the ability to function normally and time and again are too lazy to think for yourself, that's when I become intolerant. I find that this is most common among lower-income individuals in rural areas such as the one I live in.

For instance, if you walk up to me and ask me where the MP3 players/iPods are, you've taken no effort to look for them and they're staring you right in the eye, then I'm sorry, I don't have a lot of compassion for you. If you have a prepaid cell phone that is clearly worn and you still don't know how to put minutes on your phone, you have problems. If you're still asking me how the digital-to-analog TV convertors work and why the transition has (or not has had) to be made, then durrrrrrrr...once again, no compassion.

I clicked under your name on visit Davart's homepage: Angry White Guy. That kind of rhetoric frightens me more than Muslim terrorists these days--I find it more detrimental to our country. Just my opinion and I respect your right to voice yours. I do apologize for voicing my opinion in a demeaning fashion. It was innappropriate and I am sorry. As someone once said, "I screwed up."

At another job a co-worker proudly told me that he can trace his family tree all the way back to Adam.
Shortly after the election I was asked if my vote went for Obama. I answered yes. This co-worker snatched up a magazine, the cover picturing the President's wife and held it in my face. With subdued rage he shouted, "Look at those eyes, those are the eyes of Satan!"
Living in Louisville is a bit better but there are still many "good, ole country boys" around. Gotta look for them.
There are a slew of people like that back home but there are also some highly educated people with zero common sense. Just yesterday here at work I had a co-worker who was freaking out because she couldn't get an email to send out. I took a look at it and she wasn't putting @blah.blah.blah.com after the end of the persons name. She thought all you had to do was put in their name and push send to get the email to go out. This is a person with a master's degree Needless to say she was not too happy when the person with the lowly Bachelor's Degree had to show her how to do something. Takes all kinds to make the world go round.

Did you bother to read the "ABOUT" page as to where the term comes from and that it crosses all racial and economic boundaries, it's a mindset of people sick and tired of pulling there weight while the the able bodied slackers get a free ride. The term Angry White Guy comes from a Aspen Times article of the same title written by Gery Hubbell back in 2008.

Quote:
The Angry White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

His common traits are that he isn’t looking for anything from anyone — just the promise to be able to make his own way on a level playing field. In many cases, he is an independent businessman and employs several people. He pays more than his share of taxes and works hard.

The victimhood syndrome buzzwords — “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless” — don’t resonate with him. “Press ‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him. He’s used to picking up the tab, whether it’s the company Christmas party, three sets of braces, three college educations or a beautiful wedding.

He believes the Constitution is to be interpreted literally, not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of a panel of judges who have never worked an honest day in their lives.
... and it continues ...

If my views and opinions scare you more than some Muslim that would strap a bomb on their child and blow up a bus full of children, or fly a planes into a buildings killing 1000's then you would seems to have some very screwed up perceptions of the world.

What I find scary is that some liberals (not all) are more frightened of conservative viewpoints than they are Islamic terrorist.

I'm not going to stand idly by while my country is taken in the directions of dependent socialism.

Apology excepted, but don't pass judgment until you know where I stand.

Muslim terrorists aren't in my back yard right now. Unstable people fueled by lies about Obama being a terrorist are.

Sure, I am afraid we could have another 9/11--that's why I wanted Obama in charge instead of McCain/Palin.

The Angry White Guy's blog title had nothing to do with my opinion--it was his content and lack of research.

So are you going to run for office? Good luck!! (No really--I'm not kidding--I admire your passion although not your views--at least you are open to debate a crazy liberal like me).

What ever happened to customer service? Is it not your job to help people who ask whether they have looked for it or not?

We're very much off topic here.

However, I don't think Obama is a terrorist. I don't care anything about his birth certificate, I don't care if he is/was a Muslim, I don't care if he is/was a crack head. Those are moot arguments to me, not worth my time. I'd rather debate his policy which in large lays my problem with him.

I do believe he has strong socialistic tenants, which I do not agree with.
What I say is based on my research which is not limited to right-wing news I read it all, if you have valid counterpoints, I'm open to hear them and debate them in a civil manner ... I'm passionate, but not a loon.

Your welcome to make any reasonable (meaning dialog) on my post, I don't delete opinions opposed to mine. Exception ad hominems attacks ... ok I allow some of those too.

Am I going to run for office? Believe me I've thought about it, someone needs to represent the people and not the special interest. But I really don't care much for suits and ties.

I'll debate anyone on anything as long as there is mutual respect, which I believe you have.
