Lexington came in at #25 & Louisville was listed at #42
If it wasn't for very low marks for electricity (due to KY's dependence on coal fired power plants) both would have ranked MUCH higher. Lexington led all cities in recycling.
Long ago Lexington enacted zoning ordinances (useful ones for a change) to cluster new development and decrease suburban sprawl.
The horse farms were probably a major factor. I'd like to see other urban areas try to do the same thing to save local produce farms and woodland.
Since I live in one of the last few (quickly disappearing, even with the housing market etc the way it is) wooded segments of Jefferson County, I can attest that Greater Louisville is not.
