What, no talk about the Blackhawks?
They still have a long, long way to go before that starts happening again. Hopefully someday.

It does seem like Illinoisans (or at least Chicagoans) wear their ability to handle the cold like a badge of honor. The weather here is pretty bad, but sometimes I think posters exaggerate how bad it is, because they're proud of themselves for being able to handle it. You know?

Kinda, yeah. My wife thinks Im nuts because I love cold weather. Im not talking about the normal 30s and 40s, Im talking sub-zero weather. Ive been known to hike in that weather. I think it is something to tackle, and I do it. Now, I also agree about exaggerations. I think people overexaggerate our winters, sometimes to hilarious levels. You know, the "its sub zero all winter and you never see the sun" BS.

Cool thread! I'm pretty obsessed with anything weather....not sure why! haha...here is a story from tuesday night with that blizzard like storm. I drive a school bus that I park at home. Well, wednesday morning I went out to start it up and the ENTIRE inside of the bus was filled with about 3-5 inches of SNOW! Now, it takes some serious wind to blow snow through windows that are CLOSED! I wish i would have had time to get my camera! It took me 40 minutes just to get the front dash and half way back through the seats! pretty nuts! We're looking to get between 8-10 inches tonight.....hopefully it will be a snow day tomorrow!

Woah, that is insane! Sounds like you need some new window seals.

I thought this snow was supposed to start tonight, not this afternoon! There is probably .75" on the ground as we speak, and its coming down hard.

It seems like meteorologists don't have a very good handle yet on what the storm is going to do and where it's going to hit. In Lemont this morning they said 4-6 inches, but have since changed it to 3-7. Usually as a storm gets closer they can decrease the accumulation span, not increase it!
