I live near O'Hare and we had almost 7 inches of rain in 2 hours. My flood control was nearly overwhelmed. Perma-Seal (2 sump pumps), 1 separate sump pump & a separate flood control vault in the front yard to keep sewer water from backing up into the basement. Still got about 1/2 inch of water but no damage unlike some of my neighbor's basements that were flooded by the foot measure.

Just saw your post about all the rain you encountered during the storm
it always amazes me how much the weather varies within the metro area
To say the least hope things have dried out for you

Glad to see a hint of fall in the morning getting lighter later in the morning , I am now starting to wake up aroudn 5 again. My body gets tuned in with the light and its crazy but in the summer I get no sleep at all

Doesnt appear we will get any remnants of the hurricane as its not coming up thru the gulf and landing in texas or alabama . seems i remember when katrina hit la we got rain lots of rain

Crop reports in Central Illinois between Peoria and Springfield are mixed. Early corn is questionable. Late corn hasn't fiilled out. Kentucky blue is brown but beans might be okay. Might is the operative word. Generally speaking the temleratures have been hot with unusually high humidity and unusally low rainfall. Southern Tazewell, Fulton, Mason and parts of Menard counties are the driest. Logan, McLean, Woodford, Northern Tazewell, Stark and Marshall are fairing better as this area has had some recent rainfall.
