The more I look, the more signs points me to Weston or Cooper City. Commuting will be rough but I will have to deal with it. Those 2 areas check all my boxes but commute.
Do you mean Express Lanes?

They help a lot, unless someone causes an accident or breaks down *in them*. Then it's worse than the regular lanes.

Sometimes there are jackasses driving slowly, side-by-side in the Express lanes too.

Plus, when the regular lanes are congested, the price of the Express lanes skyrockets.

Yeah, I meant the express lanes. So they can potentially cut out some time but are expensive to use.

They can be like $13 for a few miles. I personally think they are a scam. I hate them.

I have used them a bunch of times to make it where I was going on time, but $10 or $13 didn't feel pleasant. One time the price jumped from $3 to $13 as I was entering the express lanes.

Wow that's crazy $13 for 1 way

I read they are planning on expanding them northward, but not sure how accurate that is...also read they might increase the fee even higher

One other thing to consider is the metrorail park and ride at dadeland station. This is a short easy drive from Pinecrest and if you luck out and your office is a short distance from the brickell station and/or metromover stations it might work so you avoid driving at all other than 5 or 10 minutes to dadeland where you park.

Now, THERE are big ifs with this especially how far your office is from the Brickell station. And metrorail can have its issues too but it is probably your only chance to totally avoid bad driving commutes and still live in a nice area if coral gables, Miami Beach, Miami Shores are too expensive.

The Brickell to dadeland south route goes through the better neighborhoods. I don't think there are huge safety issues. The bigger problem is the summer heat and humidity esp if you have to walk a long time from your Brickell station. It's only practical if you work really close to the station.

But at 9pm it might be an easy half hour drive to Pinecrest with low traffic so id think drive if you know you are working late and maybe do metro rail to avoid rush hour.

Yes the commute is doable. I live in Pembroke Pines and drive to Brickell and Miami Beach 5 days a week to show properties. Schools are better in Broward.
