What holiday treats are you making this year?

My husband makes fudge every year,
and we make pecan butterballs together.
I like mixed nut 7-layer bars.

What's your plan?

Well, not MAKING treats, but I did just try a new ice cream ... Tillamook's holiday sugar cookie.

I should not have tried it because of course I want to eat the whole carton in one sitting -- it's THAT good!

I do plan to bake a bunch of fruit muffins and some sugar cookies to give to a couple of colleagues on campus in those fun holiday tins. I won't bake much, though, as I don't want the leftovers in my house!

I will make fudge, as usual. But we buy stollen and leibkuchen when we can find them.

We bake cookies for all the service people we interact with: post office, UPS, propane guy.

So far the only sweet we will be making for family is bourbon balls, because.... bourbon.

The plan is to make peanut brittle. I haven't made it for years, but my son loves it. He's been buying it from Sees for $30 a pound, so hoping to cut that expense out of the budget. I'm also going to see if I can get a close copycat to Sees maple cashew brittle.

Christmas is usually tamale making time, but everyone has been too busy the last couple of years. I'd love to find the time when everyone can get together to make tamales.

That sent me down a rabbit hole. Now I want coconut rum balls!

Fruitcake-lets, Texas Muffin size, loaded with rum or brandy. Spritz cookies. And possibly this year, pistachio biscotti, because green.

Peanut butter fudge is a required holiday treat for us. I would like some pizzelles and I'm sure hubby wants oatmeal cookies. But to be honest, I haven't really thought about it yet.

I may make a fruitcake. The darn candied fruits this year are $$$$$ though! For a smallish container (not sure how many ounces) in Albertson’s it’s $7.99! Yikes.

My daughter and a couple of her friends are coming over one night to make gingerbread man cookies, that will be fun. I am not the best baker, so I don’t usually do cookies other than ggb men, I will leave that to someone else. Our Christmas festivities usually are more focused on the Christmas Eve meal.

I am making a cheese cake for Christmas Eve, and maybe chocolate chip cookies which I have not made in 10 years.
I don't bake much.
