$4M will spent. Way to go Govenor DeSantis!

If you were trapped in Israel, commerical airlines ceased operations, & the State Dept was doing nothing, would you get on the DeSantis plane?

Of course you would.

The State Department has been arranging charter flights to pick up Americans since Monday. They had to prepare those arrangements, because there were still commercial flights out and people needed to exhaust those options first. If everyone relied exclusively on federal transport, there would still be thousands of Americans stranded there, expecting a ride.

Even Florida had to pay for that transport. You can't just say "hey Jimmy go grab that plan in the hangar and pick up a couple hundred people in Israel, thanks."

”U.S. airlines have suspended all flights to or from Tel Aviv through the end of the month, making it harder for U.S. citizens to leave.”

”Governor Ron DeSantis announced that the first mission has arrived from Israel with evacuees who were unable to return home due to commercial flight cancellations.”

That's nice.

How many billions are we giving away to Ukraine and Israel?

Meanwhile Americans making $72,000 a year have to live in their cars!

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/17/r...-mortgage.html

DeSantis's PR gimmicks won't get him elected when Americans (Floridians or not) can barely afford rent, insurance or groceries.

So bringing people home who were trapped in a war zone is a gimmick. Interesting thought process.

If I travel abroad I have zero expectations of being bailed out by the US govt. Especially at the tune of millions of tax dollars.

Where's the bailout for Americans living in their cars in their own country?

the liberal media is leading them around by the nose....like the good little sheep they are

the governor of the state of Florida...signed an executive order...allowing charter planes to fly (rescue) stranded Floridians out of a potential war zone.....where they were stranded because American airlines had cancelled all of their flights

...and every one of these libs would be kissing the ground when they got here if it was their slimy a$$es

"DeSantis signed an executive order on Thursday to allow flights to transport Florida residents in Israel back to the state. The order enabled the Florida Division of Emergency Management to bring Floridians home and transport necessary supplies to Israel"

"Major airlines canceled flights in and out of Tel Aviv after Hamas' attack on Oct. 7."

"Bryan Stern, CEO and founder of Project DYNAMO, the search and rescue non-profit organization that facilitated the flight, told reporters that 270 people were on board the plane."

"DeSantis said that hundreds of Floridians were stranded in Israel and that the state was coordinating rescue efforts with Israel's government."

There has been plenty of bailouts given and there are many many programs out there already.

Either way, its not a publicity stunt to save American people caught in an unexpected warzone.

And yet, the number of Americans residing in their vehicles continues to skyrocket!

Oh well. Pay no mind. We have wars to throw money at.
