Where in the U.S. can compete with Florida's beaches? Hawaii? That far off land is tiny compared to Florida. Also way too isolated/disconnected.

Please tell me where in the world compares with the selection and quality of theme parks in Orlando. I cant wait to hear this one.

South Florida ranks at the top for nightlife in the U.S., and it literally has by far the most unique nightlife environments in the U.S. Please start naming cities since nightlife is "more or less the same elsewhere." Just the year-round warmth alone should make it rank super high. If it's cold out the temperatures just get even colder at night. Kills late night activity real quick. The temperatures dropping at night is just one of the reasons why South Florida has great nightlife.

Your States are already noticing the rise in the Cost of Living which is just the tip of the iceberg.

I don't hate Florida or Texas, but I am very defensive when it comes to California as you have noticed
I promise you Florida isn't trying to do anything desperately, let alone be like California. In the East California is really just an afterthought. The population is just too great here, and California is way too far out there to even matter. It's more known as just a place where tech and movies are made so the Big Dogs of the East can consume till they are full.

You... have no idea what you are talking about.

There are many negative aspects of Florida that one can bring up -- beaches are not it.

That's open for interpretation. Miami nightlife isn't for everyone and definitely appeals to a specific sub-demographic. Many other cities have active nightlife scenes many might feel are more appealing. NYC, Las Vegas, LA, Austin, Nashville, New Orleans and Chicago are good examples.

And how many of those cities have year-round warmth at night? How about tropical environments? Nightlife on beaches? Areas that resemble South Beach/Wynwood/Brickell etc.? What about all the nightlife areas that dot the coast going all the way up to West Palm? How about super diverse Hispanic populations? I can go on and on..

Why does every where need year round warmth at night? I would much rather have a cool night, anyway. Year round warmth=year round bugs. I lived in Florida for the majority of my life. The weather is so overrated. Why do I need a tropical environment? Nothing wrong with places having that, but why do you assume its what everyone wants at all times? I would rather be in Amsterdam than Miami, and Amsterdam is not tropical.

The nightlife is abundant there yes but it does cater to a more superficial, young (or pretending to be young) crowd. If you are 30+ and ESPECIALLY 40+ and going to all those night clubs full of 21 year olds.. guess what... they look at you as the creepy old guy lol. Its a very shallow scene full of drugs, alcohol, bad decisions and entitlement.

As a Hispanic person myself... who gives a crap about whether or not it has a highly diverse Spanish population? Many of them don't even speak English in Miami so if you don't speak Spanish you won't interact much with them and there's a lot of cultural tension. At least in NYC and LA there's a more genuine melting pot.

The beaches are great in South Florida, no denying that, even as much as tourists ruin them with overcrowding and trash. But that's like... fine for a few days on vacation. You can get better beaches outside FL that are less commercialised and overcrowded.

Ehh FL is a long peninsula, there's still very nice beaches there. Just don't go to the tourist traps. In Miami, I am partial to Key Biscayne.

This is simple: If you enjoy CA, and don't enjoy FL, stay in CA. Why is this so hard for some people to understand? We don't care about your opinion on FL, just like you don't care about our opinion on CA.

Having an opinion is one thing. Being factually blatantly incorrect is another. Your description (and generalization) of FL beaches makes absolutely no sense, even with your now specifying "East Coast" beaches.
