Here's a guess as I've never seen the post/sign. Lincoln Memorial, turn right?

I'm going to guess that it's a marker for the Lincoln Highway, the first paved transcontinental highway in the U.S.

Edited to add "paved" above.

There's a picture of a similar marker on this site:

Lincoln Highway

By the way, I believe Lincolnway in Cheyenne is so named because it is or was part of this highway.

Lincoln Highway marker, Interstate 80 Lincoln Monument rest stop on the summit east of Laramie. These posts directed transcontinental automobile travelers on the Lincoln Highway (later, U. S. Highway 30) to the correct road. Few stretches of the highway across southern Wyoming were paved and, in order that a wrong turn wasn't taken, travelers looked to these concrete posts for guidance.

I noticed on google maps that IH-80 is still named the Lincoln Highway.

Hi all,
Sorry it took me so long to get back here. I've been away from the computer all day.

Anyway, the next question also has to do with highways. It has two parts.

The longest transcontinental highway in the U.S. runs through Wyoming.

1. What highway (number) is it?
2. There is a short break in the highway in part of Wyoming. Why?

Wow, I don't even remember reading that in this thread! Maybe that's why I knew about it, though I thought I learned that on one of the other websites I've visited.

Well, here's another one, possibly a bit more difficult:

On August 1, 1990, the Union Pacific ran a special train out of Cheyenne, pulled by Challenger #3985. What was significant about the event, and what was the reason for it?

"On the morning of August 1, 1990 Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 Challenger 3985 slowly pulls out of the Cheyenne, Wyoming yard with the heaviest steam powered freight train since the 50’s. Its destination is North Platte, Nebraska. On the draw bar are 143 cars, 7657 tons and this colossal freight is 8900 feet long. This spectacular run is the result of a special request from the AMERICAN PRESIDENT LINES for a steam-hauled APL Doublestack train. A week earlier the Union Pacific schedules 3985 on a test freight run to LaSalle, Colorado.
Both of these exraordinary steam events are captured by multiple on-the-scene camera crews. It is only fitting that the late, great famed railroad illustrator Howard Fogg should narrate these unique events. This program will become a favorite in your railfan video library."

Well, that was exactly the information I was looking for! Your turn.

By the way, here's a video from that event:

A dying breed, where is the location and what is the name of the last operating Drive-In Theater in Wyoming? In what year did it start and in what year did it change ownership?

The American Dream Drive-in in Powell, used to be known as the Vali Drive-in, and prior to that, Paul's Drive-in, I believe. It was built in 1949, and opened on May 6 of that year. It was later sold in 1967, again sometime around 1975, and once more in 2004, when it was remodeled and renamed to it's current name, American Dream.
