My gosh, an entire thread based on a poor wording:
" Retiring on a literal shoestring: support group (pension, moving, community)"
What is the underline cause of this, do you suppose?

Last edited by Crashj007; 07-18-2017 at 09:00 PM.. Reason: underline

I suppose the underlying cause is that a huge percentage of the population no longer seems to understand the difference between "figurative" and "literal". It seems that many--perhaps most--people now use the word "literally" when they should be using the word "figuratively".

Now hear this. Everyone, please do not embarrass other City-Data members by quoting their spelling or grammatical errors in this thread. A few words or a sentence may be alright, but do not state the name of the thread or forum in which the original comment was posted.

I've deleted some recent posts which were inappropriate or orphaned (replies to deleted posts).

You may vent your frustrations with grammatical faux pas here, but please realize that the posters from C-D whom you're quoting may also read this thread. Be kind. Thank you.

You have to admire a company that trains it's employees to put their customers fist.

"Okay so I am going to be a junior in high school next year and I did color guard last year as a softmore."

Softmore or Southmore? Don't know which is worse, although I admit I've not heard Softmore before.....
