Yikes!
Failure to proofread on my part led to that gaffe. Obviously, I meant to type, "When I ask my dog if he wants to go to the yard".

Yah, we watch Jeopardy, & it surprises me that anything that happened before about 1950 CE is treated as if it were ancient history. I don't think we can expect the same prescriptive English syntax & grammar we used to get from public education K-12 anymore. In fact, prescriptive anything seems to have gone overboard or MIA, victim no doubt of road rage & other spontaneous outbursts that we read about in the local newspaper too often these days.
My friend who mispronounces moot as moat pronounces it like the defensive ditch surrounding a castle. Rhymes with boat. Probably a good thing to have if you want to cross a moat. Just watch out for the boiling oil the castle defenders have ready for attackers who try that.

It occurs to me that you may have been asking how he pronounces the castle type moat. To be honest we don't discuss castles and medieval warfare much, like ever. But I would be surprised if he doesn't know what a moat is. I would think most people would know that but I probably have an unrealistically high opinion of people.

Actually I think medieval warfare is an interesting subject.

God loves ignorant people. He made so many of them.

I wonder how likely it is for an intelligent person to be ignorant. It would seem to me that part of intelligence is a desire to become educated, but I'm just speculating.

I tend to associate stupidity and ignorance as closely correlated.

If it was not for all of these fake news pieces we would not of known the back door polices of the Obama administration and the devious dealing of the DNC.

I guess their is some purpose to fake news.!

A foreigner who was asking about differences between British English and American English received this... helpful... response from an American:

U all welcome to come to Tennessee...
The only thing is a tin of crackers.. with a tin of sardines.. not trying to be funny. Al-u-mi-um - across the pond.. Lori a cargo truck ? Please correct me if I am wrong...
Then you have British in India ~ China that have deferent sayings than from the Isle of Britain.

I didn't correct him because I did not have sufficient time for that task.
