I continue to be astounded by the number of people who don't understand the difference between "insure" and "ensure". Just today, I received an e-mail from my town, announcing a job opening in the Water Utility Department. Among the listed duties and responsibilities of this job was the following:
"Insures the proper maintenance of tools by cleaning and checking after use."
This was from a thread about stores you used to shop at, but don't anymore. I guess Sears clothing line was going downhill.
