The village I live in is having a fishing tournament for kids. They've made a poster with these words on it:

So Come On Kids! Join the fun!

I SO wish they would have put a comma between "on" and "kids."

I continue to be astounded by the number of people who don't understand the difference between "insure" and "ensure". Just today, I received an e-mail from my town, announcing a job opening in the Water Utility Department. Among the listed duties and responsibilities of this job was the following:

"Insures the proper maintenance of tools by cleaning and checking after use."

"I never thought for one minuet that having my shirt off ment anything".

What, a topless minuet??
Wow, those eighteenth-century dances must be wilder than I thought!

Must be a family like mine of a generation ago, when four of the five children became teachers.

One big happy...

I guess I could be grateful they didn't write, "Family's" on their signs.

"Sears. They use to have some descent clothing."

This was from a thread about stores you used to shop at, but don't anymore. I guess Sears clothing line was going downhill.
