If I google my name (very very rare in English), his totally unemployable selfies on his SoundCloud are ranked #1. I am concerned because I am a job seeker.

I found his phone number just by googling a bit. He also has some criminal records like lots of traffic violations and weed.

Is it a good idea to contact him by this phone number, offer him $300 to ask him to delete those images? He doesn't seem to be actively using his SoundCloud account now. He's in his 30s. And I am thinking of giving him $100 in advance, and tell him the remaining money will be sent after he deletes them. He may ask for more money, and I am OK with doing some negotiation and pay more.

I wouldn't. I'm sure 100+ people have the same name and are doing questionable things online. What makes you think he will delete the photos after you give him $300? Why won't he ask you for $500 or $1000? Unless he has your same birthday and social you are good.

My name is very rare in English. I am not American. I googled a lot but I found only two other people with my name.

Do not give him money. I would think any reputable employer would be able to tell the difference just by reading your resume. Not sure this isn't a troll post.

Not only that, but reputable employers also use sophisticated background checks.

This is a genuine post. I am seriously posting because some people who did not meet me actually said he somewhat looked like me.

I am wondering if a guy in his 30s will accept the offer (he may call higher price, which is fine with me as long as it's not too expensive).

Giving him money will do nothing. He already has a criminal record, what makes you think he won't just temporarily delete what you're asking, get your money, then put everything back up afterwards and block you from contacting him again? Giving him free money out of nowhere from a complete stranger would be like hitting the lottery for this guy.

You're out of luck on the name thing. But if you're applying to decently reputable places, they should be able look past a Google search of someone who has the same name and do their due diligence.

Now, if you're the SAME age in the SAME location. Then yeah, that's a different story.

But I wouldn't worry too much. It's odd, but it's a large world out there, people can have the same names.

If you want to waste your money, go ahead. There is no guarantee he won't take the money & run. If he does not share your bday & SS number ( as previously posted) I don't think you need to worry.

Try a smaller amount first, like 50 dollars, and go from there.
