I understood, it just sounds weird to me not to have native forest nearby (unless your climate doesn't support it). All the photos you showed had imported trees? Around here, native trees will start to grow in a garden like weeds.

Nope.

The trees we had were cleared by the planters. Years ago we actually had hardly any trees and then in the last 50 years they brought in all the american trees.

They are still bringing them in too. What they do is grow them, then cut them down and replace them again. You can see it in this photo. (to the right)

I've posted photos of forests here before on the photo thread, I could search for a few food examples, but most of the trees in my photos are natural and native, excluding some right next to houses. My two most recent ones:

Winter's coming. One week of a bit warmer than average temperatures hardly makes a summer. Oh well.

I think the beef hot dogs I had for lunch are unhappy about something. Maybe they didn't like the jalapenos for company.

Actually not happy about all these gnats we have here. Evil buggers come in the window in their drones and fly around the overhead light.

The scariest looking thing Ive ever seen also flew in through the window. Two crane flies "interlinked" flying in unison.
