Since I got back from Aus I've been staying at my parent's place in Surrey, which is near water hence the mosquitos. Where I used to live near Heathrow also had a lot of them because of the lakes and reservoirs nearby.
But um mosquitos are things that you'd find in America and Spain you don't really get them in the British Isles.
Infact, the first place I seen them was Spain.
You certainly do get mosquitos in the British Isles. Before the 1950s there were also Malaria-carrying species, but they were killed off by draining marshes.
Well, I have yet to see them. And I have asked my father of over 50 years of age has he ever seen them locally and the answer was "No, Never".
