I have a new plan. If the weather in the UK has not changed to something resembling spring, let alone summer by August, I make a sincere vow to search for jobs in Australia and take out a working holiday visa or something so I can spend a year in Alice Springs, Darwin or Brisbane or somewhere. England suck my watsit with yer paffetic joke of a climate.

I will also look into the idea of immigrating to somewhere like Florida... got to happen sooner than later.

Here's the current view from my balcony on this chilly winter morning....currently 15C after a low of 7C, high should be 20C.

That's exactly what I'd like to see this time of year (midsummer, since I live in the N.H.). Actually your winter forecast could pass for a summer forecast in some parts of Alaska. It just goes to show the wonderful diversity of climates and the people who live in them.

London's winter forecast could pass for summer in parts of Alaska, let alone Brisbane's!

London's coldest month is warmer than Barrow's warmest!

And at least if you do do this, you cannot say you haven't tried .
The exchange rate is very favourable for earning Oz currency with the weak pound and strong Aussie.

I think us posters place a higher value and emphasis on what climates we find desirable.

It was certainly a chilly one this morning in Brisbane (I biked into work). But the payback is crystal clear blue skies and warming from the sun (feels very nice outside now). Much prefer than warmer mornings and dull grey all day

Holy christ what a horrendous day.

I haven't seen a blue sky since late May according to my weather records and my memory. I know everybody on this forum always thinks I am exaggerating but that is far from the truth, there has been no more than 2-3 hours sun at once since then, and no clear skies.

Today is far below the forecast temperature, and less than 2 degrees higher at mid-day than it was at 3:00AM this morning. Overcast, slate gray sky with no definition, and a hefty drizzle blowing in your face. The drizzle and rain hasn't stopped for more than three days in a row now. Where does all this cloud and drizzle keep coming from?

Call me naive but up until the last two years I never believed this weather was even possible in summer. Maybe on one or two days a month. But every day for one and a half months and counting? Averaging less than 2 hours sun a day? Never imagined it was a possibility.

UNBELIEVABLE weather forecast.

10th of July sees maximum temperatures of 14°C / 57°F!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm driving down to SE England for a week then, to get away from that dreadful hell.

The first four days of July 2012 have received the lowest ever score for the start of a month, just 0.1 / 10, based on the average daily rating. Will July's score turn out worse than June's 1.8 / 10 by the end? Probably.
