I know... its crap.

Snow on supposedly coming on the 29th. We have a possibility on the 27th, we'll see- the metoffice do say wintry showers.

That's horrible. Why would the zoo have polar bears in the first place if it can't keep it cool enough for them? That's inhumane. Poor animal.

what!! they keep polar bears in BA can't they keep the temperature down in the enclosure?? Thats crawl

Its unhuman. Apparently, the bear appeared dead the morning of the 25th (after the intense heat of monday with heat index over 46c, and a night with HI into the 40c) and the autopsia revelaed "hipertermia" wich seems to be the opposite of hipotermia . How can they have a polar bear here if they cant guarantee he would get the appropiate temperature for survival??? His name was "winner". I saw him last year when i went to the zoo, he was beautiful!
It must be horrible dying from heat.

Yep, hyperthermia. That poor bear. I hope the zoo is penalized.
