Flood waters along the James River of South Dakota continue to recede. (<--that's the happy part) The damage to trees isn't pretty. I shot this, last week, on a 4 hour hike along the river.

Happy for the sound and light show this afternoon. A good 2-3 hours of it. There must have been a good amount of rain in the hills. The river rose very rapidly for the second time in 3 days, although not by as much as the other day, when it rose by 5 metres in a few hours.

Such lovely and changeable weather lately with continuous rain since yesterday afternoon, eased off to showers now, falls of 50 - 60mm recorded across much of the basin, cold and windy too with today’s high being just 18C
The MTD total has already exceeded the November average with over 100-110mm. Also the YTD total has finally exceeded the average with 1245mm in the city and 1270mm at the local site

Third consecutive day of no sun . MTD total stands at 154 hours, however due to fog lingering until around 2-3pm on both Saturday and Sunday at Bondi, would subtract around 15 hours.

Fifth consecutive day of no sun - longest such spell since June 2009 Also the 4th day of rain/showers/drizzle falling and that some sites has already recorded between 150-180% of the average rainfall

I just found this oddly worded and way out of whack summary of my town's climate. Frost, rainfall and sunshine aren't even remotely close It's good for a chuckle on this grey 16C/60F day. Apparently we're in the Chatham islands (900km SE of here). I'll have to contact them so they can put things right. They've got some pics though, which is more than I can manage. The Travel World Atlas: Motueka, Chatham Islands, New Zealand (populated place) - Detailed Information, Weather, Photos, Videos, Animals, Nature, Wildlife, Maps, Hazards - 2184361

Some sites have now received 200-250% of the average rainfall Sunshine, again, below normal for the month, not expected to pass the average (233) and lowest total in 3 years
Also today's forecast of "mostly sunny" in the east, thankfully, failed to eventuate with thickening scud coming in from the north rapidly after lunch (after increasing high cloud during the morning), accompanied by a strong nor-easterly reaching gale force after mid arvo with the max. gust being 70km/hr
Loving the long spell of unsettled weather

Very happy to have a return to more appropriate temperatures for this time of year. Overcast and currently in the 40s.

Happy with the unexpected cloud cover late this afternoon and the early sunsets. It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year.

Happy that the first (tunnelhouse) tomatoes are ready. 2-3 weeks before the outdoor ones are ready.
