Happy that although yes, we still have the colder part of the month to come, October 2011 is currently 2.1C above the all-time warmest October ever recorded in this country and we have a good chance of breaking yet another record (and the three warmest Octobers all happened since 2000)
That would be crazy, since I saw the sun for the first time today since since the 7th with constant drizzle, mist and fog
Not because it was the hottest (lol, of course it wasnt, when the summer already happened this year! it wasnt even close to be the hottest in october)
Not because it was the sunnier (it was completely sunny but we ve had many sunny days)
Not because it was the coldest (definetely not the coldest)
But it was the perfect combination of bright, shinny sun, ideal air temperature (22 celsius) and LOW humidity (yay). It was just perfect. Just like how i wish summer days were. A little breeze, the sun feeling really hot (it felt like 25 celsius) but nice, non-humid, and just wonderful. Ideal to hang around with shorts and t-shirt, carrying a very light sweater on the side just in case it gets a bit "coolish" at night. So far, its a wonderful night (20 celsius) and the weather feels like it would be ideal to live outside, in a park, surrounded by trees, watching the stars.....
Today it was 70 degrees, maybe the warmest temperature we will feel for awhile here in NW NC. Fall is here! The leaves are changing - and it is beautiful. I am happy that we went for a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway last weekend and the variety of color was amazing.
