I'm also happy. São Paulo had today a really cold afternoon. High officially set was 15,6ºC(59ºF) but it was last night(9p.m.=0hUTC). That's because our Institute of Meteorology measures temperature according to Greenwich time. Today, cold snap is hitting us really hard. Temperature didn't go beyond 50ºF through all day long. People bundled up everywhere, glooves, jackets...white steam getting out of our mouth when we talk...
^ Definitely jacket weather for me, but after experiencing this heat, temps in the 40s F would have me wearing gloves and layers.
There have been thunderstorms every evening for the past few days, definitely a big change from the drought conditions in May/most of June. They're cool to see, but I'm always hoping the lights don't go out!
Happy the earthquake we had here at about 3.30pm stopped shaking after 5 seconds, no damage.
Happy with the day that warmed up quickly from -2C/28F at 9.00 am to 15C/58f by 12.30. Also light high cirrus (maretails) hint at possible snow in a day or two. Might be skiing within the week.
Not looking too good over next two weeks as we come under the influence of fat, ugly and (TGB) horribly cold and very windy cold conditions from the SW - a slight switch to the S and SE - all would be fine

Pity I'm not there. Most NZers would welcome some winter sun and that "cold" after a very dreary June.
Happy that it has finally started snowing on the mountains. Good accumulation already, with the next several days forecast to see more. The local ski area opens tomorrow.
Doubly happy with the thunderstorm last, the most impressive for a couple of years. It seemed to be right above us, with a several near simultaneous strikes. Earlier in the evening a thunderstorm (over the sea )appeared to have yellow lightning due to the cloud.
Winter is finally here, forecasting between 24 to 32 inches of snow at the top of the Milford Road (940m 3083f above sea level) which is a major tourist destination road.
