Of course it was a Saturday. The following Saturday wasn't much better, with a 9.9°C high and 1 inch of rain as well:

16 F / -9 C on January 23, 2003 that I personally remember.

However, I've lived through a 13 F / -11 C on February 4, 1996 and a 9 F / -13 C on January 18, 1994.

The human body is FREAKING DEFECTIVE, WHY CAN'T MEMORIES START AT A FEW MONTHS OLD INSTEAD OF ABOUT 3 YEARS OLD? I HATE INFANTILE AMNESIA! IT KEEPS ME FROM REMEMBERING 1994 AND 1995 AND REALLY DAMAGES MY ABILITY TO REMEMBER 1996, 1997, AND EVEN 1998!

I'm just going to claim anything that happened after December 25, 1992 to be something I lived through. Make that May 1992 I was alive, just in my mother's body.

44°F on Feb 2nd 2011, normal high was 69°F, and it was way outside the standard deviation of +/-8°F. It was sunny, but windy and it was COLD, and the high elevations were worse, above 3500ft didn't crack freezing, and at 7000ft, highs were in the 6-7°F range!

It was -11C in Islip on the afternoon of 7 Jan 2014. Happened again on 14 Feb 2016 but I wasn't there.

This past year in Geneva the coldest high was only -2C on Jan 18th.

The coldest high I ever experienced was -15C up on Jungfrau on Jan 5th.
