Oh sorry high temp. That would be -9c in December 23rd 2010 so 14f.

The coldest in NI was 10f.

No, in NI we had a 10f high in 2010, the cold just pooled and got colder and colder. I think we could've got -15c if it hadn't of warmed up.

It isn't actually that cold. I scraped an ice day this winter and in no wind and calm weather it felt fine.

I have no idea about here, but when I was in Lyon I believe it must have been somewhere close to -5c or -6c.

Pretty rare though. Lows below -10c are not unheard of, but such cold usually means relatively large diurnal range, so high closer to -2c.

I guess it should be quite similar here, at least for the last 30 years.

When I lived in Toronto, there were a few times when the max was around -25c. It was starting to feel quite chilly.

The all time coldest was 10°F (-12° C), set on February 13, 1899. The coldest I can remember is 23° F (-5° C), this past February 19.
