As expected, both fall and spring are so smooth there in your country. Just take a look at Bologna and Rome, last month chart

No need to worrying about patterns there, it's a like a clockwork during this time of the year. Overall I'd say winter is really the only unpredictable season in most of Italy.

Warm weekend on tap

Wait low 70 degree temps Sunday morning in October? LOL

Could reach 86F/30C near me on Sunday

Rest of the week looks mild as well. If ORD hits 80 degrees two more times it would propel it to 101 days for the year which is ties with 2018 and 2012 and only 2005 and 2007 have more with 103 and 102 days respectively. Midway would potentially have 104 days if that site hit +80F on Sunday and Monday but falls short of the record 108 days back in 1991 and in 2018. In 2016 Midway also hit 104 +80 degree days. However NWS/Chicago only has record going back to 1981 for Midway so I don't know if earlier years saw more.

Quick look at whats happening and whats coming...

Right now all the real cold air is locked up north. All the oranges and yellows are warm for this time of year

Next weekend a piece of that cold air comes visits us in the Northeast as it digs south

Still far away but GFS says a Cold Upper Level low breaks away from the Jet stream and comes south into the Mid West.
