Here in the Rogue Valley in southern Oregon, the valley's still trapped in smoke, but it's been getting cooler at night. The leaves are even starting to change color. Supposed to have a low of 48 sometime within the next week or so, so it's been getting cooler. Other than the smoke, it pretty much feels like fall already, which is welcome, because last year, we still had days in the 90s clear into October and really didn't start cooling down until the last week of that month, however, we still recorded an 82 degree day in November last year (highest reading ever recorded in that month).
I'll be posting here from this point on as we transition to autumn which looks to start off on the cool side for the Midwest
and eastern half. Will the warmth rebuild as we push into the middle of the month?
This is why we can't put to much trust in the long range models. This pattern was nowhere on the radar just a week ago and now we're going from what was supposed to be a very warm September to a very cool one according to the ECMWF with a deep trough over the Great Lakes/Midwest
