Looks like things are going to remain warm here in Indianapolis and for much of the country. The rest of September after the next couple of days looks well above normal for temps here and the 3 month outlook has most of the country with above normal temps.

Sunny and around 80 degrees today with low 60s tonight maybe upper 50s around me in the outlying area

They upgraded the temps for the weekend. Now looks like a good chunk of the Chicago area will be in the low 90s from tomorrow maybe through Monday. Cooler near the lake and up along the Wisconsin state line. If Midway achieves 90F on Saturday Sunday and Monday that would push that site to 30 days of 90 degree temps for the year. ORD would reach 25 days

CFSV2 absolutely roasts us over the next 4 weeks. I highly doubt this will verify

Speaking of the CFSv2 does anyone want this to come true for November? Looks like an early start to winter. Of course this is just for entertainment purposes. Judah Cohen tweeted it

Weak/low Moderate Modoki La Nina, still using 2000-2001 as an analog- that featured cooler than average November and December for areas east of the Rockies.

There have only been 2 winters like that in the last 20 years, 99-00 and 11-12. So that setup is pretty rare

Certainly not looking like 99-00 at all, that was a strong La Nina event.

This looks weak to me so far, although models predict the event will strengthen a bit heading into the winter season:
