You know that song "do you see what I see, do you see what I see"????

Just play the GFS loop. Watch off the Northeast coast. Just note how the storms slow down and even come back west. Dont get locked on the details like that. Just acknowledge that something is causing this slow down and movement. Its call Blocking.

And it begins..

Rain 105 miles offshore from me. But it will get weaker as it nears the land shadow.

Light rain outside at 9pm, weird weather here for January. Some above normal pattern for a few weeks.

Currently here, in Downeast Maine....22F Degrees, Dew Point 20F, Winds, NNW 5mph, Gusts 14mph...
Tonight's forecast...14F Degrees, Winds NNW 9mph
Watched as the snow engulphed us...
Swirling and whirling around our old house!
Trodded out to feed our resident Blue Jays, Crows and Doves...
Cleared an area from snow, spread their feed and called!
Soon they arrived to gobble, fuss and fight with each other...
It was a joy to watch them!
Amongst all of this was our Flock of Chickadees ...
who dashed and darted amongst it all to get their own!
I'd say we got a good six inches before ....
the inky silhouetted, shadowed-shapes engulphed the Birch Meadows and peace settled!

This was Saltford, between Bath and Bristol at about 10:30 on 31/12/2020. One of the first really frosty mornings of the winter.

Condensation coming off the River Avon. Not sure what the proper term for this is, but I guess it's like being able to see your breath in cold weather.

... and looking summery in the September streetview.
