It's way too dry, Delta tracked well to the east and zero rainfall. Cloudier time of the year is fast approaching, extra Vitamin D supplements are in the cards.

27 degrees in Presque Isle right now with a forecast low around 20. Lucky folks. Still 2 months before we get anything like that here.

Yesterday was the first day in the Fall that failed to reach 15c as it only went to 14.2c. Actually it was the first october high below 20c, so the change was pretty sharp, and it rained all day.

Rainy and cool today as well. This next few days all look like they're going to be a bit below average and with chances of rain.

Showery day here is expected. Big time chill looms later this week

According to the GFS, much of the next 16 days will be well below normal. Just a couple of days above normal

This +PNA/-AO/-NAO pattern will deliver some early season heating demand in a big way late week into next week

out in the longer range the GFS says the cool temps will moderate as we head towards November but the CFSv2 says it's going to remain quite cool

Unlike las year, the Polar Vortex is off to a weak start. If this remains the case moving forward expect much colder conditions than currently being forecast by the models for the upcoming winter

It was very humid this weekend thanks for the remnants of Delta bringing in tropical air. Temps would have been pleasant if not for the dewpoints in the 60s. But all rain missed us. 54 straight days with less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation in Indianapolis. There's a decent chance of rain today. It won't be enough to put a dent in the drought but maybe finally give us over a tenth of an inch of rain? It's been almost 2 months!

Beyond that, we may get our first freeze Friday night! Overnight lows look to drop into the lower 30s. Highs Friday and Saturday will only be in the low to mid 50s.

The afternoon temperature departures in Maryland are pretty interesting.
Average high is 70, but it will only be 56 today at noon.

We're on the backside of Delta now..which means a strong N/NE flow. It's low 50s in Eastern PA and New York and that North Atlantic air is sent down here now.

Last night we had an incredibly muggy night for October..it was 66 with a dew of 64 at 2 am. That was the air with a tropical flow still. Some areas out in Eastern VA are still in that air. It's 81 degrees in Virginia Beach.

It’s 72 F here, and only in the 40’s in Boston. Very unique indeed.

Record low maximum for Baltimore for October 12 is 44°F/6.7°C. Now that would have been an interesting day!
