Current temps at 10,000 feet. These temps at this level doesn't allow the surface to be above normal. It's even below normal down south where its in the 30s at this level over Jackson Mississippi.

Hold on CFSv2 still warm but GFS backing off on just how warm it will get next week and the week after
latest 10 day forecast from the GFS isn't all that exciting. In fact it brings more colder than normal temps then warmer than normal

Euro had struggled this year especially in the eastern 2/3rds. I think the solution will be something in between the GFS and the Euro. Watch this video from BamWx they put out 3 days ago. They explain the pattern setup and why a blowtorch isn't a for sure thing next week and beyond

Meteorological doesn't mean much to me. Astronomical is what is the true beginning of a season. It's all about position of the sun and how many daylight hours you get, not necessarily the weather.
