We got a few light showers and a fair amount of lightning today. Sadly we haven't gotten much rain over the past two months.

0.40" of rain from this front...still hovering over this area. PUSH!

Cold front dragging south with refreshing air behind it. How about those 30s and 40s on the map?

I'll be happy with 50s for the morning for now. My sister is in the 40s at the NY/PA border.

^Nothing. That's literally how it has always been in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and (especially) the Midwest. On occasion, they can all get cold fronts even in mid July though obviously the effect is less pronounced then.

2014 was the last time we got a bunch in July. Good summer it was.

The Norman mesonet site wound up getting 2.65" (67.3 mm) of rain overnight. That's more rain than they got in the past two months combined!

Was that from convective stuff or this same front that's draped across?

3:30pm Map.. Cloudy all day here. Guess the front doesn't like the Atlantic. lol.

Check out the rain cooled air over DC & Philly. 60s during the day. Feels like Fall. South of the front = ___________

Good t-storm chances here the next few days with tropical moisture coming in. Hoping to get some decent rainfall. August has been quite dry so far; I have only had 0.35" month to date. However, July was very wet.

After 7 consecutive days hitting 90F+, today it was 69F at 5pm. Quite a change by summer standards.

My local infinite loop continues. I haven't seen a cloud in weeks. It sounds like hyperbole, but it's not.

No end in sight in the forecast...just more sun and highs in the 80s and 90s (Fahrenheit).
